Taxis at Sacramento Airport

Sacramento Independent Taxi Owners Association (SITOA) provides contracted on-demand taxi services at the airport. Several companies are members of the association, but all cars servicing the airport are white and carry airport branding. The contract between SITOA and the airport ensures that the service is provided through the availability of cars and the quality of the equipment and the services as they are required to maintain a certain level of cleanliness as well as of customer service.

The taxis are located outside the baggage claim areas of the respective Terminal, on the ground transportation level. There are signs in each of the terminals showing the way and signs showing where in the area the official SITOA taxis are located.

The taxi fare for the journey from Sacramento International Airport to downtown Sacramento is around $35-40 and it takes around 20 minutes.

A breakdown of the fare shows that there is a $3 flag drop fare with each additional mile at $2.50, while the waiting rate is $25 per hour.

Military personnel as well as seniors may be eligible for a 20% discount.

App-Based Ride Shares

There are several companies with permits to offer rideshare transportation services to travelers arriving at the airport. These services are independent from the airport and are required to be ordered in advance through the company’s app or website.

Pick-ups are only allowed in designated areas located on the ground transportation level adjacent to the baggage claim areas of the two terminals.
